Written by American attorney, politican and controversial author, Ignatius Donnelly (1831-1901).  Minnesota State House of Representatives 1887–1888, 1897–1898.  Minnesota State Senate 1874–1878, 1891–1894.  U.S. House of Representatives (Congress)  March 4, 1863 – March 3, 1869.  Minnesota Lieutenant Governor January 2, 1860 – March 4, 1863. 

 

Two volume work, 900+ pages arguing that Francis Bacon was the writer of Shakespeare plays.  

 

GOOD CONDITION.  [No dust jacket]

(Paper appears original.  Books appear to be professionally rebound.  Blue dimple paper boards.  Gold lettering on spine.)  One blank endpaper, followed by Frontice Piece B&W illustration on recto side. Title page appears to be engraved printing and lettering.  Scratched boards.  Minor, spotty foxing on enpapers.   Soiled edges.  Bumped corners.  Shelf wear to foot of boards.  Natural, even browning of pages (toning).

 

Vol One:  4 illustrations.  502 pages.  Followed by one page advertisements.  Recto side states: "LONDON : Printed by Gilbert and Livington, LD  St. John's House Clerkenwell  Road E.C., one blank endpaper leaf.   Approx dimensions: 9.875"x7"x1.5"

 

Vol Two:  10 illustrations.  pp. 505-908.  One blank endpaper leaf.  Approx dimensions: 9.875"x7"x1.5"
